Life in the fast lane...

This week was a blip. Now fully in the routine of hopping the 7.39 or the 8.57 train to Penn Station each morning and sweeping into my job at Crossmedia, I've quickly forgotten what it feels like NOT to have an endless "to-do" list! All is well, and this week marked the official "signing on" to Crossmedia as a permament consultant until 2007. At that time we will re-group and see what's next. My committment there is for a theoretical 30 hour work week. So 3/4 employment. I can work on other clients at my office there in the Flat Iron district or continue to work from home if I choose. All in all, not a bad deal for me personally. I guess it was worth the wait to get this position. Yesterday's Crossmedia "burger day" was at 3rd avenue and 27th in a cool restaurant called Choice Kitchen and Cocktails. We had a great time!

The work update
My work at CROSSMEDIA is heating up nicely. There is a lot to do to keep this fast paced company moving along and I have a free-hand to improve things as I see necessary. MACGODDESS work is going fine. Steady and not difficult. THUNDERDOG in Brooklyn work has not begun quite yet, as the guys are working under several art deadlines and have not been able to get me in there yet. Fortunately I have managed to keep a full schedule without them. Once I get started with things I believe I will have more work than I can handle! Quite a different problem than a few months ago.

Congratulations Salvador

Congratulations go out to my friend Salvador in Santo Domingo. He has purchased his first home - a 3 bedroom Condo. Salvador, 31, works incredible hours as an on-air reporter as well as a journalist in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Salvador has interviewed the President of Dominican Republic, and generally reports on issues of local and world economy. Salvador often travels to New York on business. Go Salvador! Yo mando amor. Paz...

BREINER SEES NEW YORK
My Dominican nephew BREINER ('bray-ner') lived out one of his dreams yesterday. This is his first time flying out of the Dominican Republic to visit his family in the United States. I spent the day with Breiner on Friday. It was just Breiner and me! No Enlgish for him, and my limited Spanish! We worked it OUT! We started in Times Square, headed to Rockefeller Center, on to Roosevelt Island to look at the view..We saw the new Mac Store, Central Park and the Time Warner Center. We were TIRED. I took Breiner back to the Bronx where we said goodbye until August when he returns to New York from Providence R.I. There are a few pics posted of Breiner HERE. There are also several video clips of us posted on the same page!
STARS AND STRIPES FOREVER!

CONGRATULATIONS OUT TO SEAN!!! He became an American citizen this past Thursday! He passed his test questions and proved he is worthy to join us with his new Nationality. Sean has dreamed of this day since he was a small boy growing up in South Africa. The day finally came, and I'm sure he never dreamed the cast of characters that would be around him on that fateful day! All the best to Sean - with lots of love from all of us. WELCOME! you are a fine addition to our land! Sean appears at the right with closest (and most charming) friend Freddie who is Deputy Principal for the mid-grades within the school system in Durbin, South Africa. Pic was taken at Cynthia and Murray's 50th Wedding anniversary extravaganza.
